Überblick
Works as an excellent vulcanizing agent for silicone rubber, providing safe handling at 75°C and a vulcanization temperature of 90°C. The recommended dosage ranges between 1.1% and 2.3%. Beyond its use in the rubber industry, CBPO is also in the manufacturing of low-voltage power cable rubber materials and composite rubbers.

Produktüberblick
Bis(2,4-dichlorobenzoyl) peroxide (CBPO, CAS 133-14-2) is a low-temperature diacyl peroxide with 4.21% active oxygen and a 10-hour half-life temperature of 47°C. Its unusually low decomposition temperature makes it the standard vulcanizing agent for silicone rubber, where it allows curing at temperatures that would degrade other initiators.
Halbwertszeit- und Temperaturprofil
CBPO decomposes at 80℃ (0.1 h), 65℃ (1 h) and 47℃ (10 h) — by far the lowest in the LAAP catalogue. In silicone rubber vulcanization the compound is typically processed at around 75°C and vulcanized at 90°C, with a recommended dosage of 1.1-2.3% on rubber. Because the decomposition temperature is so low, the mixing and forming steps must be kept cool to avoid scorch; this is why CBPO is usually supplied as a 50% paste rather than a dry powder.
Auswahl innerhalb derselben Produktfamilie
CBPO (47°C) is the lowest-temperature member of the LAAP diacyl family, well below DBPB and DCP. Within the diacyl group, LPO (CAS 105-74-8, 62°C) and BPO (CAS 94-36-0, 71°C) are progressively higher-temperature options; DIPB (CAS 3437-84-1, 23°C) is even lower but far less thermally stable. Choose CBPO when the process must run below 100°C and a paste form is acceptable. Its decomposition products include carbon dioxide and 1,3-dichlorobenzene, so ventilation must be designed accordingly.

CBPO is a white paste supplied at ≥50.0 ± 1.0% active content. Typical controls are assay, active oxygen and paste consistency. Each batch ships with a CoA; REACH-compliant SDS and a TDS with the half-life table and recommended dosages are available.

Standard packing is 20 kg fiberboard drums with a plastic inner liner, with custom packaging on request. SADT is 60°C and the recommended storage temperature is 30°C. Minimum order quantity starts at 25 kg, and quotations are returned within 24 hours.
