Aperçu
TBPA est un amorceur peroxyster à température moyenne utilisé pour la polymérisation haute pression de l'éthylène (LDPE), la polymérisation du styrène et des acrylates, et le durcissement des résines de polyester insaturé. Sa température de demi-vie de 10 heures de 100°C en fait un amorceur de référence pour les procédés dans la fenêtre 120-140°C.

tert-Butyl peroxyacetate (TBPA, CAS 107-71-1) is a medium-temperature peroxyester with 12.11% active oxygen and a 10-hour half-life temperature of 100°C. It is used for the high-pressure polymerization of ethylene (LDPE), the polymerization of styrene and acrylates, and the curing of unsaturated polyester resins.
Profil de Demi-Vie et de Température
TBPA's half-life series (139℃ at 0.1 h, 119℃ at 1 h, 100℃ at 10 h) places the process window at roughly 120-160°C. It is a common mid-cascade initiator, chosen because its decomposition temperature fills the gap between the fast peroxydicarbonates and the slow dialkyl peroxides. TBPA is normally supplied as a solution in an odourless solvent — benzene, odourless mineral oil or isododecane — so it can be metered as a liquid and dispersed evenly in the reaction mass.
Sélection au Sein de la Même Famille
Within the peroxyester family, TBPA (100°C) sits between TBPMH (CAS 13122-18-4, 94°C) and TBPB (CAS 614-45-9, 103°C), and above TBPEH (CAS 3006-82-4, 73°C). Choose TBPA when the process runs 120-160°C and a liquid, solvent-diluted initiator is preferred. For lower-temperature duties step down to TBPEH; for the highest peroxyester temperatures step up to TBPB.
Qualité, REACH et Documentation
TBPA is a clear, colourless liquid, supplied as 70% or 50% minimum active content with an activation energy of 149.36 kJ/mol. Typical controls are assay, active oxygen, colour and solvent content. Each batch ships with a CoA; REACH-compliant SDS and a TDS with the half-life table are available.
Conditionnement, MOQ et Délai
Standard packing is 20 kg polyethylene drums, with custom sizes on request. SADT is 70°C with a recommended storage range of -15°C to 10°C, so cold-chain shipping applies. Minimum order quantity starts at 25 kg, and quotations are returned within 24 hours.
