Peroxide curing agents are the organic peroxides used to cure unsaturated polyester, vinyl ester and acrylic resin systems. LAAP manufactures BPO (CAS 94-36-0), TBPB (CAS 614-45-9), CBPO and MEKP, and supplies them factory-direct from Lanzhou, China.
The BPO versus MEKP decision comes down to cure temperature. MEKP is used with a cobalt promoter for room-temperature hand lay-up and RTM, which is why it dominates small-boat and tank fabrication. BPO is an elevated-temperature curing agent, usually used with an amine promoter, and is preferred for pultrusion, SMC/BMC moulding and injection processes where a fast, reproducible cycle matters.
For silicone and specialty rubber, CBPO is the low-temperature option — it is a vulcanizing agent that works around 90°C, which is why it is supplied as a 50% paste for safe handling.
