Overview

p-Menthane hydroperoxide (PMHP, CAS 80-47-7) is a hydroperoxide initiator derived from terpene chemistry. Its unique combination of thermal stability and low volatility makes it valuable in specialized applications: • Emulsion polymerization — redox initiator system for styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) • Cold rubber (low-temperature SBR polymerization below 5°C) • Acrylic emulsions and latex production • Curing of anaerobic adhesives and sealants • Oxidation catalyst in fine chemical synthesis PMHP offers excellent stability at ambient temperatures compared to other hydroperoxides, making it easier to handle and store in industrial settings.
