Overview
TBPV (tert-Butyl peroxypivalate, CAS 927-07-1) is a low-temperature ester peroxide initiator, one of the most commonly used peroxides in the PVC industry. Its 10-hour half-life temperature of 46°C enables efficient polymerization at low temperatures: • PVC suspension polymerization — primary initiator for achieving high conversion • VCM (vinyl chloride monomer) bulk polymerization • Ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) production at low temperatures • Acrylate and methacrylate polymerization • Combined initiator systems with TBPEH for broad temperature range coverage LAAP supplies TBPV as a 75% solution in odorless mineral spirits (UN3113), the standard industrial format for safe transport and handling.
